With almost 800 troopers statewide, the division has grown into several areas of special services including Public Information, Capitol Patrol, Lake Patrol, Training, Bomb Squad, Motorcycle, Tactical Teams, Special Operations, Aircraft, Audits and Fraudulent Driver License. Even today, motorists will declare that troopers are well-mannered, friendly and hospitable while maintaining an unrivaled level of professionalism. A total of 288,277 warnings compared with only 5,518 arrests and citations were written in the first nine months of patrol. But the troopers were prepared for this as they paved the way for all future officers by exerting good manners and service to all citizens. In 1937, the new state troopers met resistance from Oklahoma motorists who were not used to living within the bounds of traffic regulations when none had ever before existed.

Bring all required documentation to a DMV Full Service Office or County Assessor which offers vehicle registration services. If you have just purchased a vehicle or are registering it in Nevada for the first time, see the full list of Registration Requirements or New Resident Guide and use our online Registration Fee Estimates. Credit will be given for the unused portion of your current Nevada registration. Your expiration date will change if the current expiration date is more than 35 days away. You have the option of renewing your vehicle registration for a full year. A $5 substitute plate fee will apply in addition to the specialty plate fees. If you choose to keep the same expiration date, we will issue your new plates with a new registration slip and decal. If you wish to keep the old plates, you must bring the rear plate and surrender the decal in person. If your vehicle is currently registered in Nevada, bring the old plates to a DMV Full Service Office or County Assessor which offers vehicle registration services.
